It’s been 30 years since Tom Hanks and Robin Wright starred in the Academy Award-winning classic “Forrest Gump,” but they’ve only recently gotten to spend time together on set.

The pair and the 1994 film’s director, Robert Zemeckis, recently reunited for the upcoming drama “Here.” The trio will always be associated with “Forrest Gump,” but Wright shared that she and Tom Hanks didn’t get to talk too much while shooting that movie.

“We were racing around shooting that movie and every lunch period, Tom was out running, just running wherever they could grab him running, so we didn’t really get to hang out,” Wright explained on TODAY Oct. 28, alluding to Hanks’ running as his character, Forrest Gump, in the film.

 

“I would do anything with Bob and Tom,” she said. “And so when he called and said, ‘I don’t know if it’s going to work. It’s never been done before.’ And we all just said ‘Let’s get onboard.’”

Wright said the movie connects with people.

“It is relatable human experiences that we all have and it’s moving in front of you, in this one place called ‘Here,’” she said.
